Musical Theatre Classes
Age 9 - 15 years
Wednesdays from 4:15 pm to 6:30 pm.
Individual Auditions and Registration begin in June.
12 week FALL session
Classes run from the beginning of September through November.
This session provides instruction in singing, dancing and acting techniques. Students work on different musical numbers with choreography and participate in theatre games, improvisation and scene study.
WINTER/SPRING Session
Classes run from December to the end of May.
(Acceptance to this program is based on student development and dedication in the FALL program)
IMPORTANT: This program requires a serious commitment from each student.
The weekly program continues to develop voice, movement and drama skills, while creating production numbers in a full length Broadway musical, to be performed in a professional theatre. During this session, all performers receive a great deal of individual attention. In order to prepare for outstanding performances, an additional weekly small group rehearsal will be arranged according to each student’s individual schedule. THE RESULTS WILL AMAZE YOU!

Fees
Fall program (the first Wednesday in Sept to the end of Nov 2010) $429.40 including H.S.T.
Winter/Spring program (Dec to May 2011) $1158.25
includes all extra small group coaching, scripts, music, CDs, costumes, individual photos and H.S.T.
Acceptance to the Winter/Spring program based on performance and participation in the Fall program.
Auditions
At the audition each candidate will be asked to sing “O Canada” and a musical theatre song of his or her choice; participate in a variety of choreographed dance steps; and take part in various drama activities.

Parent Involvement:
Parents will be expected to help their child rehearse lines and lyrics between classes.
As we approach the final performances, there are occasions when parent involvement is required. These volunteer jobs enhance the experience for the performers and make it a real community effort. There are many fun ways to be involved, including stage managing, advertising, backstage dressers, props or photography.
Tickets sales are essential and will be required by each family to enable us to present a full length Broadway production in a professional theatre.
Vocal Lessons
Private vocal lessons are also offered to students of all ages. Come and develop the potential of your voice – classical, musical theatre or just for the fun of learning how to sing to the best of your ability! Call for availability.
Private Coaching
Available for students who are auditioning for entrance to various high schools offering Musical Theatre, Voice or Drama Programs. Assistance will be given in the selection of suitable solo audition songs and monologues. Individual coaching will prepare the student for a vocal or drama audition. Students will also learn how to pick up various dance-step combinations for musical theatre. The goal is to develop a strong stage presence so the student feels confident and well prepared for the audition. Call for availability.
